COIMBATORE also known as "KOVAI" is the third largest city in Tamil Nadu State of India. Many Express, Passenger and Commuter Rail starts from Coimbatore Railway Station. First train service in Coimbatore was started in the year 1861. This station is one of the railway junctions formed by four lines from this station to Chennai, Shoranur, Pollachi and Mettupalayam lines. There are 6 platforms in this railway station. 137 trains halts in this station, 31 trains originates from this destination and there are 31 terminating trains.

ANNAMALI TIGER RESERVE is a Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park. It is also known as ''INDIRA GANDHI WILD LIFE SANCTUARY AND NATIONAL PARK''. This wildlife spreads across around 1450 Square Kilometer of land. You may require almost a day to thoroughly enjoy this holiday spot. There are so many species of Mammals, Animals, Birds, Reptiles and Butterflies are preserved in this Sanctuary. Mammals like Bengal Tiger, Indian Elephant, Dhole, Nilgiri Tahr, Lion Tailed Macaque, Brown Mongoose, Gaur, Malabar Spiny, Dormouse, Nilgiri Langur, Rusty Spotted Cat, Sambar Deer, Sloth Bear, Otter, Indian Giant Squirrel, Indian Leo Par and Indian Pangolin are seen here. Animals like Jackal, Leopard Cat, Jungle Cat, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Wild Boar, Common Langur, Bonnet Macaque, Asian Palm Civet, Small Indian Civet, Indian Gray Mongoose, Ruddy Mongoose, Grey Slender, Indian Giant Squirrel, Indian Crested Porcupine, Indian Pangolin, Indian Porcupine and Three Stripped Palm Squirrel are preserved here. More then 250 species of Birds can be identified in this wildlife sanctuary and some of the must know groups are Cormorants, Ducks, Teal, Darter, Partridge, Quail, Jungle Fowl, Spur Fowl, Indian Peafowl, Parakeets, Horn Bills, Barbets, Drongos, Orioles, Shrikes, Warblers, Old World Fly Catchers, Wood Peckers, Leaf Bird, Trogons, King Fishers, Storks, Egrets, Fish Eagles, Hawk Eagles, Harriers, Falcons, Kites, Owls and Night Jars. Also seen are Reptiles and more than 300 species of butterflies belonging to five families. Trekking and Safari Van are available to get around the park for the visitors. Other facilities like Tourist Complex, Cottages, Rooms and Dormitories are available for the tourists. 

Asia's Number 1 Water Theme Park "THE BLACK THUNDER" is a great place for fun lovers. This Park spread across 75 Acres of an area and offers around 49 rides. Is one day enough to enjoy all the entertainments available in this water park? The answer is no, as there are plenty of rides and entertainments available to enjoy your holiday to the core. Kids enjoy Duck Train, Parasuite, Caterpillar and Mini Enterprises Rides. The 6 Adult Dry Rides are Tora Tora, Ferries Wheel, Columbus, Dream Girl, Dashing Car and Dragon Coaster. Thrillarium Ride and Illusion are the two exciting rides in this water park. Horse and Camel Rides are there for fun ride lovers. MONKEY FALLS also known as ''CHINNA KUTTRALAM'' is one of the must see picnic spot in Kovai. It is one of the favorite tourist attractions. Between July and November is the best time to visit this place and it is open for visitors from 6 in the morning till 6 in the evening on all days. Before visiting this place, we should obtain prior permission at least a fort night before from The Tamil Nadu Forest Department which is in Pollachi. Visitor has to be very careful with the slippery area near the Falls. Little bit of trekking skill are required to visit this Falls. 

THE DHYANALINGA is the place to learn about Yogic Science. It is situated at the foothills of Velliangiri Mountains. It does not belong to any particular faith of belief system. No Ritual, Prayers or Worship are performed inside Dhyanalinga. We need to sit silently for few minutes which is enough to get the positive energies within us. It is Open to all from 6 AM to 8 PM on all days. Main Events and Celebrations happens in The Dhyanalinga are Nadha Aradhana, AUMkar Meditation, Amavasya and Pournami Days, Pancha Bhuta Aradhana and Mahashivratri Celebrations. 

SIRUVANI WATERFALLS is located around 35 Kilometers from Coimbatore. It is popularly known as ''CUTRALAM OF KOVAI''. Architectural styles of Kerala and Tamil Nadu can be seen on the gateways. Siruvani is the main source of water for the residents of Kovai. I should rather say those are really blessed to get such a tasty water with mineral properties. Main tourist attraction is the view we get from the falls. Since it is located in the dense forest, tourists are not allowed after 5 PM. Trekking skill is required to visit this Falls as from the entrance we need to trek for a distance of 4 Kilometers. Plenty of local transports are available to reach this spot. 

MAHARAJA THEME PARK located in Kovai is a well known Amusement Park. It was opened in the year 2006 for Public and Tamil Film Actor Suriya inaugurated this Theme Park. 

TNAU BOTANICAL GARDEN is a well maintained Garden and it is a perfect place to get relaxed. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Botanical Garden spreads across 300 acres of land and maintains many types of Plants, Flowers and Trees which is a treat to our eyes.


MARUDHAMALAI ARULMIGU SUBRAMANIYASWAMI TEMPLE is a popular Religious place of interest and also a popular Hill Temple. Main Deity in this Temple is Lord Murugan. There is a special and auspicious cave called ''Pambatti Siddhar Kugai'' in the foot hill exclusively dedicate to "Pambatti Siddhar" who spent most of his life here. Ideal worshiping time are during Viswaroopa Dharshanam at 6 AM, Kalasandhi Pooja at 9 Am, Uchikkalam Pooja at Noon, Sayaratchai Pooja at 5 PM and Ardha Jama Pooja at 8.30 PM. Celebration during "Karthikai'', ''Kandha Sashti Viratham'' and ''Sashti'' are the main events in this hill temple. It is believed that this temple is almost 1200 years old. It is situated at a height of 600 feet from the sea level. Being one of the important Murugan Shrines, it is visited by thousands of devotees every year. 

KOVAI KONDATTAM is an Adventurous Amusement Water Park in Kovai. It is one of the ideal place for a day long enjoyment filled with fun and amusement on water and other rides which are suitable for all age groups. Enjoyments starts at 10.30 in the morning and comes to an end at 6.00 in the evening. Main attractions are Aqua Dance, Water Pool, Dashing Cars, Rock Climbing, Hara Kiri and Video Parlour. 

VOC PARK AND ZOO is a fun filed Amusement Park as well as Zoological Garden where more than 890 Animals, 330 Birds, 105 Mammals and 50 Reptiles are preserved with utmost care and affection. Its a small park compared to other parks in the country, but its a nice place to spend half a day time of your holiday and in fact it is worth visiting this place. This Park is named after a great freedom fighter of India V O Chidambaram Pillai who is from this City. 

ADIYOGI Shiva Statue is 112 feet high that represents the 112 ways to attain liberation that are mentioned in Yogi Culture. It is a Hindu Deity Lord Shiva and designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev who is the founder of Isha Foundation. Adiyogi means ''The First Yogi'' and Lord Shiva is known as the ''Originator of Yoga''. It was inaugurated on 24th February 2017 by Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The statue weighs 500 tonnes and it took around eight months to build. The Face of Lord Shiva is made using steel and the reason behind making 112 feet height is to represent 112 Chakras in our Human System. 

PATEESWARAR TEMPLE is located in Perur. Lord Shiva is the main deity in this Hindu Temple. Pateeswarar is one of the names of Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvathi is in the form of Pachainayaki in this divine place. It is believed that deity is self emerged. Pillars here show the architectural skill of ancient tamil sculptors. 

AMARAVATHI DAM was built across the River Amaravathi and it is located at Amaravathinagar. Amaravathi Reservoir spread across around 9.30 square kilometers. This dam was built with an intention to support irrigation. Well laid Park attracts the tourists to spend time here and they can climb steps on the dam to take photographs. Anaimalai Hills and Palani Hills can be seen from here. Boating is permitted in Amaravathi dam. 

G D NAIDU MUSEUM is one of the Museums in Kovai where the great scientist G D Naidu's Life Work are displayed. G D Naidu was referred as Thomas Edison of India. Most of the items displayed here are his own inventions. Collections includes Razors, Electric Shavers, Gas Lighters, Photo Flashes, Pens, Cameras, Post Cards, Binoculars, Working Models, Drawings and Charts. 

Gass FOREST MUSEUM is a Natural History Museum, located inside the Forest College. Few of the collections are Stuffed Gaur an Indian Bison, Stuffed Chinkara an Indian Gazelle, A Stuffed Leopard, Stuffed Peacock, Stuffed Peahen, Elephant Foetus, Seasoned Trunk of Sandal Wood Tree and Seasoned Specimen of Neer Kadambai Tree Trunk. 

ANCIENT INDUSTRIAL ARTIFACTS MUSEUM is one of the landmarks of Kovai. Display here includes the Old and New Stone Age collections. Attractive collections are Stone Beads Bangles, Beads Bangles, Shell Bangles, Jewellery, Coins and Stone Inscription. 

ARULMIGU VINAYAGAR TEMPLE is located at Eachanari. Lord Vinayaga is the main deity in this temple. Ganapathy Homam is performed here every day at 5.30 AM. This temple arranges free marriages for economically poor people. Temple administers ''Anbu Illam'', where 25 poor students are given free lodging, boarding, school books and clothes. 

THE RAMAYANA THEME PARK, an interesting place of interest, is located inside Ramakrishna Mission at Periyanayakan Palayam. Models about various events of Epic Ramayana can be seen. Games and Rides are available in this theme park to entertain children. Even the games and rides is about the events of Epic Ramayana like Lakshman Rekha Game, Rishyamukha Mountain, and much more.

GOVERNMENT MUSEUM, located in VOC Park Road, is the perfect place to learn about variety of subjects. This was opened in the year 1989. The collections are displayed in five different sections like Art & Archaeology, Numismatics, Geology, Botany and Zoology. 

KASTHURI SREENIVASAN ART GALLERY AND TEXTILE is located on the Avinashi Road. Best place to know about the history of ancient arts & textiles. Art Gallery and Textile Gallery are the two major galleries in this learning centre. Other facilities include an Auditorium and a Library. 

REGIONAL SCIENCE CENTER is a 6.71 acre Science Park. In the Textile Gallery, one can know about the textile industry evolution. Other interesting galleries are Fun Science Gallery, 3D Theatre, Giant Globe and Planetarium. 

THE DHYANALINGA located here is a Yogic Temple. Inside the temple, one has to strictly maintain the silence. In Sanskrit ''Dhyana'' means ''Meditation'' and ''Linga'' means ''Form''. There is an exclusive place to do meditation. Major events takes place in The Dhyanalinga are Nadha Aradhana an Offering of sound to the Dhyanalinga and Aumkar Meditation an opportunity for the visitors to experience ''AUM'' a powerful mantra meditation.
