COORG is the earlier name of KODAGU. Coorg is a tiny district in the State of Karnataka and is one of the beautiful Hill Stations in India. 

District is full of Plantation and Dense Forest. Kodagu is well known for its Culture, Tradition, History and its Hospitality. Tadiandamol, Pushpagiri and Brahmagiri are the three highest peaks in Kodagu. ABBEY FALLS or ABBI FALLS or ABBE FALLS is situated at the centre of a Coffee Plantations. Highlight of this place is the presence of a Hanging Bridge. THE OMKARESHWARA TEMPLE is an Ancient Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The  Omkareshwara temple is located in Madikeri and this religious place attracts thousands of devotees every month. Architecture reflects both Gothic and Islamic styles. This devotional place is open for devotees from 6.30 AM to 12.00 Noon and again from 5.00 PM to 8.00 PM. This was constructed by the King Lingarajendra II during 18th century. King Mudduraja founded 

THE MADIKERI FORT during 17th century. He also built a palace inside Madikeri Fort during his ruling. This palace was renovated between 1812 and 1814 by King Linga Rajendra II. There is a Church inside the Fort called St. Mark's Church and this was built in the year 1859. 

TADIANDAMOL also known as THADIYANDAMOL is one of the attractions and is the Highest Mountain in the district of Kodagu. Located at an elevation of 1,748 meters, Tadiandamol is situated in the range of Western Ghats. This is an ideal location for Trekkers. Camping is banned here, hence the trekkers should climb the mountain and should be back on the same day. 

MANDALPATTI is a View Point. Also Mandalpatti is famous for Coffee Plantations, Hill Station and Trekking. This view point is open for visitors from 6.00 in the morning till 6.00 in the evening. This place will be crowded during weekends. Also this is the best place for Photographers and Animal Lovers. This view point offers City's Panoramic View. 

BRAHMAGIRI HILL is located in the Western Ghats. Brahmagiri Hill stands at a height of 1,608 meters. This hill is surrounded by thick forest along with lots of wildlife. On one side of the Brahmagiri, there is a Lord Vishnu Temple called as Thirunelli Temple. This temple was built with 30 Granite Pillars that resembles ancient Indian architectural style. It is believed that this Thirunelli Temple was built by Lord Brahma himself. 

DUBARE ELEPHANT CAMP is located on the banks of Kaveri River. It is well known place for training Elephants. Dubare is an Island formed by Kaveri River. During Dussehra, Elephants are used in Mysore and those elephants get trained here. Activities happening here are Trekking, Elephant Rides, Coracle Ride, Bird Watching, Fishing and River Rafting. Spend at least two to three hours to enjoy this spot. 

PUSHPAGIRI also known as KUMARA PARVATHA is a 5,617 feet tall peak and it is the Highest Peak in Pushpagiri Wild Life Sanctuary in the Western Ghats. It is located in Somwarpet and is the 4th Highest Peak in the state of Karnataka. Also known as 
SUBRAMANYA HILLS is located in the middle of the Jungle. The entrance to this place is located 165 meters above the sea level. 

Located near Yavakapadi Village, The NALKUNADU also known as NALKNAD PALACE was built between 1792 AD and 1794 AD. In local Kodava language, this place is referred as Naalnaad Aremane. This is one of the Monuments of India and being taken care by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museum, Government of Karnataka. 

GADDIGE popularly known as RAJA'S TOMB is one of the Kodagu's Monuments. Built in Muhammadan Style, there are three tombs built here for the Royal Dynasty. The center tomb belongs to the King Doddaveerarajendra and other two tombs belongs to King Lingarajendra and Guru Rudrappa. There is an idol of Lord Shiva in this tomb, since the Kings were belonged to Hinduism. There are several restaurants available near Gaddige. 

CHELAVARA FALLS is one of the Natural Waterfall. It is advised not to get in to water as the depth is around 100 feet. The Chelavara Falls is located near to Thadiyandamol. 

THE LAKSHMANA TIRTHA or LAKSHMANTIRTHA RIVER is a beautiful picnic location in Coorg. The Lakshmana Tirtha joins the River Cauvery in the Krishna Raja Sagara Lake.

BHAGAMANDALA also known as BHAGANDESHWARA TEMPLE is a religious place in Coorg. This Temple is situated at an altitude of 2,946 feet. At this place, the river Cauveri is joined by River Kannike and River Sujyoti, hence it is called as Triveni Sangamam. Lord Shiva is the main deity in Bhagandeshwara Temple and it is the common practice among devotees to dip in the Triveni Sangamam prior to entering this religious spot.

MALLALLI FALLS is located on the foot of Pushpagiri Hill Ranges. This is one of the amazing waterfalls in the Coorg. As the roads to Mallalli Falls are very narrow, the only option to reach the spot is by walk. Plenty of water will be there during monsoon and hence it is the best time to visit. 

KOTEBETTA is the Third Highest Peak in Coorg. It stands at an height of 5,400 feet. In local language Kote Betta means ''Fort hill''. There is a Shiva Temple on the Peak of the Hill. This is one of the ideal place for trekkers to have fun for around 10 kilometers. Best time for trekking in Kotebetta is between October and March. 

VIRAJPET CLOCK TOWER is a Clock Tower located in Virajpet. Virajpet Clock Tower was built in the year 1911 and was inaugurated in the year 1915. This was built to show respect to George V. Karnataka Postal Circle has released a cover on this on 16th January 2015. 

THE ALAKAPURI FALLS attracts thousands of tourists every year. Alakapuri Falls in Kodagu, Karnataka spreads up to the near by state Kerala. This is one of the must see location in this nature divine tourist destination. 

THE SRI MRITHYUNJAYA TEMPLE is located in the Badagarakeri Village in Virajpet, Coorg. This Temple is popular among locals and Lord Shiva is the main deity. This divine place is situated in the middle of Coffee Plantations and there is a garden near by. Its a very calm place, hence devotees can spend their time peacefully.
