RANCHI is the capital of Jharkhand State, India. Jharkhand means ''The Land of Forest''. As per local language ''Jhar'' means Gold and hence it also referred as ''Piece of Gold''.
On 15th November 2000, the state Bihar was divided in to two separate states namely Bihar and Jharkhand. It was once the summer capital of Bihar State. JONHA FALLS also known as Gautamdhara Falls is famous for its 500 steps present to reach the spot. There are quite a few Rest Houses for the visiting tourists. Not only this spot is famous for its nature but also for the presence of divine Lord Buddha Temple. 

Located near Taimara Village, THE DASSAM FALLS is famous for its natural scenery's. The River Kachni falls from around 144 feet height and this falls is also known as Dassam Gagh Falls.

PANCH GAGH FALLS which is located at a distance of just 6 kilometers from the city, consists of five streams. Falls here is from the Banari River. 

Situated at an distance of 70 Kilometers from the City, the HIRNI FALLS is a beautiful waterfall that lies amidst forests. 

PAHARI MANDIR is one of the landmarks of Ranchi. Main deity in Pahari Mandir is Lord Shiva. This mandir is located on the top of the hill. Ranchi Lake is situated at the bottom of the hill. There are around 400 steps to be climbed in this mandir. Maha Shivratri is celebrated with full enthusiasm and thousands of devotees visit on this day to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. 

SITA FALLS is known for its natural scenery's and the best time to visit is during early morning. Sita Falls is located very near to Jonha Falls. 

JAGANNATHPUR TEMPLE was built in the year 1691. The Architecture of this temples resembles the style of Puri Temple. Rath Yatra takes place every year in this mandir. Sun Temple is situated at a distance of 40 kilometers from the city. The design of the Sun Temple is like a Chariot with 18 wheels that is drawn by 7 white horses. There is a divine pond where devotees take bath during Chhath Pura festival. 

ANGRABARI TEMPLE is also known as Amreshwar Dham. Deities found inside Amreshwar Dham are of Lord Shiva, Lord Ram & Sita, Lord Hanuman and Lord Ganesh. This temple is situated in Khunti Village. 

DEVRI TEMPLE is situated on NH 33. This temple is spread across 2 acres of land. Main deity in this temple is Goddess Durga. It is the only temple in the state of Jharkhand where the rituals are performed by Tribal Priests who are all called Pahans. Navrathri is celebrated in a grand manner on all 9 days. Idol of Lord Shiva is also seen inside this mandir. 

GEL CHURCH - Gossner Evangelical Lutheran Church is situated here is one of the place to visit in this tourist spot. This church was inaugurated on 2nd November 1845. 

THE TAGORE HILL, which is one of the tourist attractions, is situated in Morabadi. This place is also known as MORABADI HILL. This Hill has been named so to show the respect for Shri Rabindra Nath Tagore who was a great poet during his days. You can enjoy the smooth breeze during morning or evening time. Accommodation, Lockers and Food Stalls are the facilities available in this popular destination. 

NAKSHATRA VAN is a beautiful park and this park was created by the Forest Department of Jharkhand. Kids will have great time playing in the garden. Many kinds of trees and flowers are seen in this big park and the interesting part is that this park is maintained neatly. 

STATE MUSEUM in Hotwar was opened for public in the year 2009. Galleries inside this Hotwar Museum are Ethnological Gallery, Sculptural Gallery, Potteries, Paintings, Auditorium and Library. Museum is closed on all Mondays and on other days it is open from 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM. 

RANCHI SCIENCE CENTRE comprises two storied building and covers an area of around 42,000 square meter. In Jharkhand, this is the First Science Centre opened for public. Galleries include Fun Science, How Things Work and Wealth of Jharkhand. Facilities available are 3D Projection Theater, Auditorium, Car Park, Children's Corner, Computer Hall, Conference Room, Office, Exhibit Development Laboratory, Science Demonstration Corner, Science Library, Store, Inflatable Dome Portable Planetarium and Temporary Exhibition Hall. 

THE TRIBAL MUSEUM is located in Morabadi. It is also an Tribal Research Institute. This Museum is so popular to know about the culture of tribes of Chota Nagpur Plateau. KANKE DAM is one of the perfect places to get beautiful scenic view. Dam comprises of amazing garden known as ROCK GARDEN. This is one of the best locations to spend time with family. BHAGWAN BISRA BIOLOGICAL PARK attracts thousands of visitors every month. Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park is a Beautiful Zoo, located on NH 33. It is the home for types of animals including Mammals, Birds, Reptiles and Captive Animals. CHOTANAGPUR FUN CASTLE, located on Ratu Road is a fun filled Park. This place is closed on Sundays, on other days it is open from 9.30 in the morning till 8.00 in the evening. Chotanagpur Fun Castle was opened by Shri Arjun Munda. Rides like Caterpillar, Baby Train, Go Kart Junior, Jumping Bag, Sky Train, Dragon Coaster Video Game Pool and Boating attracts thousands of visitors every month.
