MARINE DRIVE also known as QUEEN'S NECKLANCE is a 3 kilometer long, arc shaped roadway. It starts from Nariman Point's Southern end and extends till Chowpatty Beach. Located at Apollo Bunder Waterfront, the local Taj Mahal was inaugurated in the year 1924. Before Independence, the basalt arch of this Gateway served as India's entry and exit access through waterways. Attractions here are the statues of Chatrapati Shivaji, Swami Vivekananda and the view of the Gateway Complex from the Arabian Sea. It is one of India's Ancient History and Cultural Heritage sites.

SIDDHIVINAYAK TEMPLE, located in Prabhadevi was built in the year 1801 and this temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh. It is referred as one of the Mumbai's Richest Temples. It is believed that the statue of Lord Ganesha located inside the temple is self-evolved. The two and half feet wide sanctum was made out of a single piece of black stone.
GIRGAUM CHOWPATTY, also known as CHOWPATTY, is a small Sandy Beach that is located in the Southern side of the city. During sunlight, it is a treat to our eyes to watch the glittering white sand and it looks like a colorful fair during night time. ELEPHANTA CAVES, located on the Elephanta Island is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Earlier, this tourist destination was known as Gharapurichi Leni. Elephanta Caves consists of two groups namely Hindu Caves and Buddhist Caves. Hindu Caves are large and that consists of five caves where as there are only two caves in Buddhist Caves. The sculpture inside the caves takes us back to 5th and 8th centuries.
BANDRA WORLI SEA LINK also known as RAJIV GANDHI SEA LINK is an Eight Lane Cable Stayed Bridge connecting Bandra and Worli. On an average around 37,000 vehicles passes through this bridge every day. The bridge was constructed above Mahim Bay. Its a combination of natural and man made beauty. There is a small park near this destination for the tourists to relax and enjoy the beauty of the nature. Twinkling and Sparkling lights during night time is a great treat to our eyes.
PRINCE OF WALES MUSEUM is popularly known as CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ VASTU SANGRAHALAY. Prince of Wales laid the foundation stone during 1905 and this museum was inaugurated for public on 10th January 1922. Prince of Wales Museum is one of the most eminent museums in India and also it is a Grade 1 Heritage Building of Mumbai. Plenty of ancient artefacts, sculptors and artwork collections are kept on display. There is also an exclusive display of Indian traditional costumes.
ESSEL WORLD is an Amusement Park. There are rides for all ages. At present there are 11 rides for Adventure Lovers, 15 rides for Children and 14 family rides. There are more than 14,000 collection of Paintings, Artefacts and Sculptures that can be seen inside the gallery. Water Color on Canvas and Oil on Canvas are the highlight of the collections. Gallery is open for public from 11 in the morning till 6 in the evening and it is closed on Mondays and National Holidays.
FILM CITY was built in the year 1911 and it spreads across 520 acres of land. There are approximately 20 Indoor Studios inside the Film City. More than 900 Films and Television Shows have been shot here. Guided tours are available to explore entire Film City namely Mumbai Film City Tours, Bollywood Dreams Tours, Combination Tours and Half Day Bollywood Tour. You should spend between two to three hours in this place to explore the entire complex. One can get to know about the process involved in shooting Indian films by visiting here.
GLOBAL PAGODA, located near Gorai, is a Monument of Peace and Harmony and it covers an area of around 13 acres of land. Dome shaped Pagoda Monument reflects ancient as well as modern Indian technology. It was constructed in accordance with Traditional Buddhist architecture and it is a Meditation Hall. Global Pagoda is open to public from 9 in the morning till 6.30 in the evening and you may require around 1.30 hours to explore this monument.
SANJAY GANDHI NATIONAL PARK was referred as BORIVALI NATIONAL PARK before Independence. This 104 square kilometer Park is one of the best National Parks in India. This park is the home for Leopards, Macaques, Boars, Lions, Fox, Kingfisher, Sun Birds, Butterflies along with few more to add to the list. Main attractions here are Toy Train and Lakes. Narrow gauge Toy Train is referred as Jungle Queen or Van Rani and the visitors get the chance to enjoy the ride for 15 minutes. It travels along the foothills, bridges, tunnels and deer park. Two artificial lakes located inside are Vihar Lake and Tulsi Lake. Boating service is also available near Van Rani. Lion and Tiger Safari is another major attraction that attracts several visitors. Cycles are available on rent for tourists to roam around the Sanjay Gandhi National Park at a nominal cost.
KANHERI CAVES is located inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Illustrating the Buddhist Architectural influence on the Art & Culture of India, the Kanheri Caves is a group of Alcoves and Rock Cut Monuments. Attractions here are Unfinished Buddhist Paintings, Prayer Hall, Water Falls, Natural Rivers, Water Bodies, around 51 Legible Inscriptions and around 26 Epigraphs.Between the years 9th and 1st centuries BC, the Kanheri Caves were Buddhist Learning Centre as well as a Pilgrimage centre for Buddhist Monks.
MUMBAI ZOO, built in the year 1861, is the only Zoo of Mumbai and it is also one of the Oldest Zoos in India. Spread across 48 acres of public land, this zoo is the home for more than 3000 species of trees along with 180 mammals, 500 Birds and 40 Reptiles. It is open for public from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM.
MAHALAKSHMI TEMPLE, a Hindu Pilgrimage Place, was built between 16th and 17th centuries. It is one of the sacred temples in the city and devotees from all over the country visit this divine place. Main Aarthi takes places between 7.00 AM and 7.20 AM and from 7.30 PM to 7.50 PM, between 6.30 PM and 6.40 PM Dhoopaarti takes place and at 10.PM Shejarti takes place. There are several shops available near the temple area for the devotees to purchase the items that are required to perform pooja.
ISKON TEMPLE is located near Juhu Beach is a Divine Place for spiritual seekers. Dedicate to Lord Krishna, the ISKON Temple is well known for its impressive architecture and Temple wall paintings. Wall paintings includes the scenes from Mahabharata. Early morning is the best time to visit. There are Auditorium, Restaurant and Guest House inside ISKON. Furnished air conditioned rooms are available for the visitors at nominal rates. Free food and prasad are served for the under privileged. Every day aartis takes place at 4.30 AM and 7.30 PM. Special programs takes place on Sundays between 1.00 PM and 2.30 PM.
HANGING GARDENS also known as PHEROZSHAH MEHTA GARDENS, was built in the year 1880 and it is a popular tourist destination. It is constructed on a water reservoir and it provides clean & fresh drinking water for the near by residents. Hanging Garden was built in the remembrance of Shri Pherozshah Mehta who was a Parsi Political Leader, also he was referred as the Lion of Bombay.
MAHAKALI CAVES also known as KONDIVITE CAVES, is located in Andheri. Built between 1st and 6th centuries, the Mahakali Caves is a total of 19 Rock - Cut Monuments. It is one of the best places for History lovers and Archaeologists. The existance of Buddhist Stupa indicates us that Buddhist Monks were visiting this cave during Ashoka 's reign. The scriptures found in the cave walls are in Pali language. These small caves contains numerous rock-cut cisterns.
JEHANGIR ART GALLERY is located at Kalaghoda and it is considered as one of the prestigious venues where artists get a chance to showcase their skills. Established in the year 1952, the Jehangir Art Gallery's vision is to make art available and easily accessible to the common man. There are Three Exhibition Galleries, an Auditorium Hall, Hirji Jehangir Gallery and Terrace Art Gallery inside this Art Gallery. More than 300 art shows takes place every year. Monsoon Art Show is the well known Annual Exhibitions that happens here.
