KULLU is one of the Hill Stations in the State of Himachal Pradesh in India. Activities includes City Shopping, Skiing in winters, Rock Climbing, Paragliding, Mountaineering, Jeep Safaris, Bike Safaris, Fishing, Rafting and Trekking. Kullu's River Beas is a famous place for rafting for all kind of people, be it a professional or an amateur. The best time for rafting is from end of April to June and September to October. Trout fishing is also popular in this valley. Kullu is a paradise for adventure seekers with many thrilling and best trekking places. Kinnauri, a market in Kullu, is famous for shopping items like Pashmina shawls, Tibetan traditional stuffs, Buddhist paintings and other wooden stuff. How to Reach Kullu?
Kullu Airport, also known as BHUNTAR Airport, is located in the district of Bhuntar in Kullu. It is around 10 kilometers from the main city. Manali. Currently only Alliance Air operates flights from Chandigarh and Delhi. Also, we can reach this holiday destination by bus from major parts of North India. There are various ways to get around in Kullu like hiring a taxi, hiring a motor bike and travelling by Intra-Town bus.

MALANA is an Ancient Solitary Village. It is located in an Isolated and Charming Plateau by the side of Malana River. One of the best locations to enjoy Trekking. Other activities includes Trading in Malana and The Muzik Cafe. In Malana, we are not supposed to touch the belongings of others without their permission. They have their own rules and breaking any rule may incur a fine. Trade and Transactions here are done through Earth and Air. Goods are exchanged either by throwing them at the receiver or by keeping them on the ground. The Muzik Cafe is a best example of Impeccable Hospitality. The attractions here are Snug Rooms, Dainty Decorations and Delicious Foods. If we are lucky, the owner of the Muzik Cafe would show us his juggling skills. Trekking here is famous as the path runs through the thick forest, splendid valley and scintillating water.
THE GREAT HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK that spreads across 754 square kilometers is located between 1500 and 6000 meters above the sea level. This is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Himalayan National Park consists of four valleys namely Sainj Valley, Tirthan Valley, Jiwa Nal Valley and Parvati Valley. Three sides of the park are surrounded by Himalayan Mountains. This place is the home for around 375 species of Fauna, Mammals and Birds. Various levels of Trekking ranging from easy, moderate to tough is one of the activities that takes place here. Between April and May & from October to November, Bird Watching activity takes place. Eco Zone is an another activity where we get the chance to experience Rock Climbing, River Crossing and Abseiling between March and May and again between September and November.
RAGHUNATH TEMPLE is one of the Oldest Temples and this temple is a religious importance place amongst the locals. During Dussera, Raghunath Temple will be filled with stunning color lights along with beautiful decorations. It is believed the idol of Lord Raghunath here was used by Lord Rama himself. Entire structure was built based on Pahari and Pyramidal Styles of architecture. We may require around thirty minutes to enjoy the beauty of Raghunath Temple.
BIJLI MAHADEV TEMPLE is one of the must visit temples in Kullu Valley. This temple is famous for its Lightning Strikes, Huge Structure and Beautiful Surroundings. It is said that the lighting struck Shiva Linga here and the Lingam was broken in to pieces. Then, the Shiva Linga was brought together using butter by a temple priest. It also said that this repeats every year. It is little tough to reach this temple as we may have to trek through a distance of around three kilometers path covered with an amazing pine trees. One may require around three hours to enjoy the beauty of Bijli Mahadev Temple.
PANDOH DAM is a man made Dam on the banks of Beas River in Mandi District and it was built to prevent the river flooding the surrounding areas. It is situated at the distance of around ten kilo meters from Manali. Several Water Sports and various activities takes places in the narrow stretch of the lake. Rafting is one of the adventurous activity that takes pleas on commercial basis. White Water Rafting attracts lot of adventure lovers to this place. Also, Rugged Terrain attracts several Trekkers from all parts of the world. Activities like Boating and Swimming are banned here. Weather here is unpredictable since this dam is located near the dense forest belt. The best time to visit Pandoh Dam is between the months of April & July and again from September to December.
FRIENDSHIP PEAK, located at around 5,289 meters above the sea level is one of the Trekkable Summits in the Indian Himalayan Region. Friendship Peak is considered as a Trekker's Heaven destination and it is situated in the Pir Panjal Range. The trekking path runs through Alpine Meadows, Thick Forest of Alpine Trees, Orchards and Gushing Streams. Walking over Glaciated Tracks and Narrow Ridges adds more thrilling experience for the trekkers.
CHANDRAKHANI PASS is located in Kullu. The mountains surrounding the Kully Valley are nestled between Pirpanjal and Dhauladhar Ranges. Visitors from all over the world comes here to enjoy the fertile fields,evergreen thicket and crystal clear gushing water. It is located at an altitude of 3600 meters. It is one of the popular base for trekking. This valley is very narrow and on both sides steep mountains can be seen. The ideal time to visit is between the months of June and October.
PARVATI VALLEY TREK is the most challenging treks in the Himalayan region. The trekkers get a mesmerizing views of the valley. The unique feature of the trek is that adventure seekers can have a glimpse of color changing peaks and the gleaming Sun. The trek goes along River Parvati and hence it got its name. Generally the package for this trek is for 12 days and it gives a thrilling experience to the trekkers.
BHRIGU LAKE is situated between two high altitude ridges towards the east of Rohtang Pass. It is a glacial lake and is well suited for families. Tourists can expedite a weekend trek in this area and can reach an altitude of 14000 feet on day 1 of trekking. The trekkers can witness and experience snow near them the next day. Normally the trek starts from Gulaba Village and it covers an approximate distance of 30 kms. The best time to visit here is between June and September.
MANIKARAN is a small town near the main town Kullu, famous for Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara and the hot springs. It is located along the banks of Parvati river. It is considered a religious place of both Hindus and Sikhs. The Hot Springs found here are considered sacred and are capable of curing various diseases as the water in these springs contains uranium, sulphur and other radio active elements.
HANOGI MATA TEMPLE is a temple dedicated to Hindu Goddess Hanogi Mata and is situated in a picturesque back drop in Kullu. Near the temple, rock climbing and trekking can be enjoyed.
SHRINGI RISHI TEMPLE is a Hindu place of worship situated in Banjar, near Kullu. The temple houses shrines of Lord Shringa and Goddess Shanta. Thousands of devotees throng this place during festivals.
NAGGAR is a small town in Kullu where you can walk around leisurely and relax amongst the back drop of mountains, valleys, greeneries and flowing river. You can also enjoy trekking and camping here. This town has a castle that houses Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, a fort, Naggar Fort and Gauri Shankar Temple with extravagant stone carvings and architecture.
BHUNTAR is the main town in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh which has an Airport and ATM facility. It is a silent place free from crowded tourists and the nature is seen at its beauty with River Beas around. Adventure sport white water rafting is famous in River Beas here.
BHABHA PASS TREK covers Kinnaur, Spiti Valley and Pin Valley. June to September is the best time to trek here as the weather will be conducive for trekking. The trek starts from Kafnu in Kinnaur Valley and passes through lush green meadows and fields along the banks of the river Bhabha. It takes five full days to complete the trek and explore the entire area.
JAGANNATHI DEVI TEMPLE is a 1500 year old temple dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneshvari. This goddess is the sister of Lord Vishnu. The temple is constructed in Pahari style of architecture with the images of Goddess Durga all over. The temple came into existence with a story. Once, a shepherd boy who used to graze his flock of sheep started to play flute. Hearing the tune of his flute, two girls started dancing. The boy caught hold of one the girls. The girl then revealed that she was a goddess and decided to settle in that place showering the blessings on the people of that area. It is an important place of worship for the Hindus.
