PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE is located on the River Bagmati Banks. Lord Pashupatinath, one of the forms of Lord Shiva, is the main deity in this sacred Hindu Temple. Since 1979, the Pashupatinath Temple Complex is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Maha Shivaratri is the main festival celebrated here with devotion. On that day, over 800,000 devotees from all over the world visit this divine place to seek the blessings of Lord Pashupatinath. It is the Oldest Hindu Temple in this capital city. The legends surrounding the temple origin are the Cow Legend, The Linchhavi Legend and The Devalaya Legend. Around 518 Temples and Monuments are located in this 264 hectares of Pashupatinath Temple Complex. Vasuki Nath Temple, Unmatta Bhairav Temple, Surya Narayan Temple, Kirti Mukh Bhairav Shrine, Budanil Kantha Shrine, Hanuman Shrine and 184 Shivaling Shrine are located in the inner courtyard. Ram Mandir, Virat Swaroop Temple, 12 Jyotirlingha, Pandra Shivalaya and Guhyeshwari Temple are located in the outer complex. 

SWAYAMBHUNATH also referred as SWAYAMBU or SWOYAMBHU is one of the Oldest Religious Sites in Nepal. This site was founded by King Vrsadeva during the 5th century CE. Swayambhunath consists of a Stupa, Various Shrines and Temples. Few of them are existing since the Licchavi Period. Recently a Tibetan Monastery, Museum and Library were additionally built in this divine place. Stupa of Buddha looks stunning, as the eyes of Buddha looks in all four directions. It is believed that many artifacts are inside the Stupa. 

BOUDHANATH or KHASA CHAITYA or NEWARI KHASTI is a Stupa. In Nepal, this 118 feet Tall Stupa is One of the Largest Spherical Stupas. Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage since 1979. It is one of the main tourist attractions in this metropolitan city. It is believed that Boudhanath was founded between 590 CE and 604 CE by King Sivadeva of Licchavi Dynasty. 



THAMEL is the Tourist Industry Hub in Kathmandu. It is one of the Commercial Place and most of the time this place is crowded. Best place to buy Food, Fresh Vegetables, Fresh Fruits, Pastries, Trekking Gear, Walking Gear, DVD's Handicrafts, Souvenirs, Woolen, Clothes. There are plenty of Grocery Stores, Budget Hotels and Restaurants on both sides of the street. Several Cars, Cycle Rickshaws, Taxis and Two Wheeler's ply in these narrow streets of Thamel. 

KATHMANDU VALLEY is one of the interesting sight seeing place. There are over 130 Iconic Monuments located in this valley that includes several Hindus and Buddhists Pilgrim Sites. 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites are located in Kathmandu Valley namely Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changu Narayan Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Temple and Patan Durbar Square. 

DAKSHINKALI TEMPLE or Dakshin Kali Temple is located around 22 kilometers away from the main city. In Nepal, Dakshinkali is one of the Important Temples. Goddess Kali is the main deity here. Goddess here is worshiped by sacrificing the animals like Cockerels and Uncastrated Male Goats. Dashain is the main festival celebrated here. 

KOPAN MONASTERY is located near Boudhanath and is one of the Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries. This Pilgrimage Place was founded by Thubten Yeshe and Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. Visitors to this place can get to know about Buddhism as regular classes takes place in Kopan. One year Meditation courses were conducted in the year 1971. Courses here covers the topics on Meditation and Vegetarian Diet.  

KATHMANDU DURBAR SQUARE is located in front of Old Royal Palace in the Valley of Kathmandu. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This Durbar Square is one of the Three Durbar, that is, Royal Palace Squares located in this beautiful historic valley. There are several pilgrimage places to visit in this historical valley. 

BHAKTAPUR DURBAR SQUARE is located at an altitude of 4,600 feet and it is situated in front of the Old Bhaktapur Kingdom Royal Palace. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Bhaktapur town is also known as Bhadgaon. It is the highly visited place in the Kathmandu Valley. Major attractions here are The Palace of 55 Windows, Goddess Vatsala Devi Temple, Statue of King Bhupatindra Malla, Nyatapola Temple, Bhairava Nath Temple, Golden Gate, Lion's Gate and Mini Pashupati Temple. Other places to visit here are Erotic Elephants Temple, Ugrachandi & Ugrabhairab, Rameshwar Temple, Kedarnath Temple and Hanuman Statue. 

THE LANGTANG NATIONAL PARK was established in the year 1976. Spread across 1,710 square kilometers of pubic land, it is the Fourth National Park in Nepal. Climate of Langtang Park vary and it depends on the altitude of the area. During winter season, it will be almost freezing as the highest elevation is around 9,800 feet above the sea level. 

CHANGU NARAYANAN is an ancient Hindu Temple that is located on the Kathmandu Valley. It is also known as CHANGU or KOLAGIRI. Inside Changu, you get to see the Historical Pillar that was erected in the year 464 AD by Kind Mandeva, Garuda, Statue of King Bhupalendra Malla, 7th Century Stone Sculptures of Chanda Narayanan, Vishworup, Vishnu Vikrant & Narasimha, 9th Century Stone Sculpture of Sridhar Vishnu, and 16th Century Stone Sculptures of Vishnu, Lakshmi, Garuda & Goddess Chhinnamasta.

THE PATAN MUSEUM is located in Patan. This Museum is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This was inaugurated by King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah in the year 1997. Visitors to this place get the chance to see the Sacred & Traditional Arts of Nepal. They have displayed the artifacts in an Illustrious Architectural Setting. One of the best place to know about ancient Nepal's Culture, History and Treasures. Astonishing precious like Cast Bronzes, Glit Copper Repousse Work, Traditional Crafts are the major attractions found inside. 

CENTRAL ZOO is a Private Zoo that was established in the year 1932. It was opened for public only in the year 1956. In Nepal, the 15 acre Central Zoo is the only Zoo in the entire country. Central Zoo is the home for around 870 animals of over 109 species. Mammals, Reptiles and Birds inside this Zoo are Asian Elephant, Assam Macaque, Barking Deer, Black Buck, Blue Bull, Common Langur, Clouded Leopard, Indian Crested Porcupine, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Blue Sheep, Hippopotamus, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Leopard Cat, Indian Rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger, Slamang, Spotted Deer, Striped Hyena, Water Buffalo, Aldabra Tortoise, Rock Python, Chinese Alligator, Cobra, Monitor Lizard, Gharial, Turtles, African Grey Parrot, Demoiselle Crane, Black Necked Stork, Black Headed Ibis, Budgerigar, Dusky Eagle Owl, Eurasian Eagle Owl, Steppe Eagle, Ostrich, Bar Headed Goose, Grey Heron, Himalayan Griffon, Kalij Pheasant, Vulture, Crane, Hornbill, Silver Pheasant, White Pelican, Buzzard, Cocoatoo and White Stork. 

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF NEPAL is located near Swayambhunath. Established in the year 1975, National History Museum has more than 50,000 collections that pertains to Flora and Fauna of Nepal. Regular training programmes takes place in this museum regarding Conservation on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora for Teachers, Students and Conservation Sector Employees. 

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NEPAL, a popular attraction, is a 100 plus year old museum. It is the Largest Museum in the country of Nepal. Collections seen inside are Historical Artworks that includes Sculpture & Paintings and Weapons that were used during 18th and 19th century wars. Separate Galleries can be seen about Statues, Paintings, Murals, Coins and Weapons. Collections Animal Species, Butterflies Species and Plants Species are also kept in the display. Other attractions are the Art Gallery and Buddhist Art Gallery. 

THE TARAGAON MUSEUM is the centre for Arts & Culture. Galleries found inside are about Photography, Urban Sketches, Drawings and Maps. Unique and Historic Photographs collections found here, pertains to 19th and early 20th centuries. Several artists drawings pertaining to Urban Landscape are kept for display here. Historical Map collections from 18th century are available for the visitors to see inside the Maps Gallery. 

THE MAHENDRA MUSEUM is located in the Hanuman Dhoka Palace. Stunning architecture style forces the visitors to stay for more time. One will get the chance to enjoy and learn about the life style of the Kings of Nepal, King's Office Chamber, His Cabinet Room, Personal Items, Coins, Stamps, Poetry, Manuscripts, Handwritten Notes, Medals, Various Gifts are kept on display.

PATAN DURBAR SQUARE is located at Lalitpur. There are three Durbar Squares in the Valley of Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Square is one among them. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ancient Royal Palace is the main attraction here, where Lalitpur Malla Kings used to reside. Apart from Royal Palace, there are several Temples and Idols located in this Durbar Square. Patan is one among the Oldest Buddhist Cities in Nepal. It is one of the Hubs for Hinduism and Buddhism. Close to 136 Courtyards or Bahals along with 55 Important Temples are located here. Do miss to see the three main courtyards namely Keshav Narayan Chok, Mul Chowk and Sundari Chok. 

GARDEN OF DREAMS also known as GARDEN OF SIX SEASONS, is a 74,220 square feet huge Neo Classical Garden. This Beautiful park was built in the year 1920 and it was designed by Kishore Narshingh. Main attractions inside are Three Pavillions, An Amphi Theater, Ponds, Pergolas, Fountains, Decorative Garden Furniture, European Style Verandas, Balustrades, Bird Houses and Urns. 

FIFTY FIVE WINDOW PALACE or 55 WINDOW PALACE is locally referred as Pachpanna Jhyale Durbar. It is located in Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This beautiful palace was built by Malla King Bhupatindra Malla. This structure is one of the best spots to know about the architectural skills of ancient people. This is one of the main attractions in Bhaktapur Durbar Square. 

DURBAR MARG or DURBARMARG is one of the streets in this beautiful City. Durbar Marg means The King's Way. This street connects Narayanhiti - Former Royal Palace with the main city. It is a posh area. Several Luxury Hotels, International Cuisines, Pricey Boutiques, Travel Agencies and Airline Offices are located here. King Mahendra's Statue along with his father King Birendra's Statue is found here.

Because of its Gold Color, it is also known as The Golden Temple. There is a huge Prayer Wheel inside near the Golden Colored Pagoda. Feeding Rats is very famous in this pilgrimage place.
