MEGHAMALAI commonly referred as HIGH WAVY MOUNTAINS is located in the Theni District of Tamil Nadu State in India. This beautiful location is  in the Western Ghats at an elevation of around 1500 meters. Hence, the best place to enjoy the nature and to beat the heat. High Wavy Mountains is rich in flora and fauna and the area is planted with Tea Plants and Cardamom Plantations. Tamil is the local language and the locals speak English as well. A day or two will be sufficient to cover all the tourist destinations. Being part of Western Ghats, Meghamalai is the home for many animals. Animals like Flying Squirrel, Sloth Bear, Grey Jungle Fowl, Wild Boar and Spotted Deer can be spotted easily. Chances of seeing face to face with either a tiger or a leopard might me possible. How to Reach?

MADURAI is the nearest Airport which is around 118 kilometres away. Buses as well as Cabs are available from the airport to reach the destination. Meghamalai is around 489 kilometres away from Bangalore Airport and around 560 kilometres away from the Chennai airport. Madurai is the nearest Railway Station and it takes around 2.30 hours by road from here to reach the destination.

MEGAMALAI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY attracts plenty of visitors every year to discover the hidden wildlife in the dense forests that spread across an area of 600 square kilometres. Place is fully surrounded by bushy trees and one of the best locations for photography lovers. A lake flows in the sanctuary where the tourists can spot plenty of birds and animals. Megamalai wildlife sanctuary is the home for Oriental Honey Buzzard, Horn Bill, Indian Brown Mangoose, Jerdon's Palm Civet, White Bellied Short Wing, Black Naped Monarch, Pied Thrush, Gaur, Tiger, Leopard, Asian Elephant, Mouse Deer, Large Scaled Pit Viper and much more to add.

MEGHAMALAI FALLS is also known as CLOUDS LAND FALLS that originates from the ranges of Meghamalai. Water cascades from a height of around 190 feet. The sweet falling sound of cascades exhoes throughout the place. One of the best places to spend the time with family. 

VELLIMALAI also referred as SILVER MOUNTAIN spread across an area of around 1650 meters. Silver lined clouds seems to rest gently on the hill tops. One of the best places to see wild animals aesthetically. Vellimalai is the home for animals like Spotted Deer, Spotted Dove, Barking deer, Sambar deer, Mousedeer, Grizzled giant squirrel, Indian flying fox, Indian giant squirrel, Indian giant flying squirrel, Pied thrush, Black bulbul, RedEye, Black baza, White-bellied woodpecker, White-bellied drongo, Drongo cuckoo, Black-naped oriole, Black-naped monarch, Black-naped hare, Tiger, Dhole, Great pied hornbill, Malabar pied hornbill, Oriental honey-buzzard, Dusky palm squirrel and Bison.

SURULI FALLS is located at nearly 6 km from Meghamalai. The water falls from a height of 58 metres. The place is calm and serene and is best place to enjoy the beauty of water amidst the greenery.

IRAVANGALAR DAM, is a man made reservoir and is surrounded by tea plantations and misty hills. It is must visit place and is located at a distance of 18 km from Meghamalai bus stop. The dam is maintained by Tamil Nadu electricity Board.

MAHARAJAMETTU VIEW POINT, is the best view point to have a bird's eye view of the entire place. Megamalai looks at its best between the endless greenery and rocky mountains from this view point.

MURUGAN TEMPLE, is dedicated to Lord Murugan atop the mountain ranges. People visit this place not only to seek the blessings of the God but also to have a view of picturesque beauty of the place.

MANGALA DEVI TEMPLE is located nearly 14 kms from the main hill town. This place is popular amongst the devotees who come in large numbers to pray and seek the blessings of the deity.
