VALPARAI is one of the Hill Stations located in the COIMBATORE district of the INDIAN State TAMIL NADU. Originally, Valparai is known as POONACHIMALAI. It is located at 8,389 feet above the sea level, on the Anaimalai Hills Range of the Western Ghats. Tamil is the official language spoken among locals. Major portions of Valparai are owned by private tea companies. Things to do in Valparai are Trekking, Bicycling and Bird-watching. Valparai Main Market offers good choices of Tea and Coffee at an affordable prices. For those looking to buy souvenirs can opt for this option. How to Reach?

COIMBATORE is the nearest Airport which is around 113 kilometres away. Cabs and Public Buses are available to reach Valparai from Coimbatore. Pollachi and Coimbatore Junction are the nearest Railway Stations which are around 65 kilometres and 106 kilometres away. Plenty of buses are available from nearby towns and cities like Pollachi, Coimbatore, Chalakudi, Palani etc. if one prefer to reach by road. Local buses and Cabs are available to move around within the hill station.

AALIYAR DAM, an iconic tourist destination in Valparai is famous for its Thunderous Noise of the water that roars down below. Nearby attractions like Aquarium and Theme Park attracts thousands of tourists. 

Opened in the year 1965, the SOLAIYAR DAM in Valparai is the second deepest dam in Asia. It covers an area of 8,705 square kilometres. Tea and Coffee estates surrounds this dam. Sholayar Dam is one of the major hydroelectricity power production sites in the state of Tamil Nadu. Dam gets it water from the Chalakkudi River. It is located around 20 kilometres from Valparai. 

MONKEY FALLS is situated on the way to Aaliyar Dam. It is also known as CHINNA KUTRALAM. Plenty of monkeys can be seen in this area hence got its name. There are steps inside the water, tourists can get drenched to have fun. 

GRASS HILLS is situated nearly 15 kilometres from Valparai. Grass Hills along with grass and mountains that are surrounded nearby, comes under the control of Anaimalai Tiger Reserve department. To visit the Grass hills, special permission should be obtained from the wildlife warden. This location is famous for viewing the gorgeous sunset over the hills.

THOTTAPURA VIEW POINT is not much popular among the tourist, but certainly its an amazing place to spend a weekend. The view we get from the peak are amazing and unforgettable. We get a chance to see the animals like Wild Elephants, Bisons, Leopards, Deers , Lion Tailed Monkeys, etc., roaming on the road. Its just like a wildlife safari. 

LOAM'S VIEW POINT attracts many tourists from all around the world. There are plenty of hair pin bends which adds thrill to the journey to reach the peak. Several eagles can be seen soaring above and the green plantations nearby is a real treat to our eyes. 

Valparai, a hill station in Tamil Nadu is well known for its WILD LIFE. It is well known for its elephant tract and have many leopards. Other animals like Bengal Tiger, Elephants, Boars, Lion Tailed Macaques, Gaur, Spotted Deer, Sambar and Giant Squirrels can be seen. This hill station is also rich in birds like Great Hornbill and migrant birds like Grey Wagtail. 

URALIKAL is an amazing Tea Estate which is located at an elevation of around 3,746 feet above the sea level. It was established in the year 1915 by Tata Tea Company. Uralikal tea estate covers an area of around 430 hectares and for operation convenience it is divided into three divisions.

CHITTI VINAYAGAR TEMPLE is one of the popular religious attractions that is located at Sholayar which is around 5 kilometres from Valparai. It is owned by Jay Shree Tea Industries. BALAJI TEMPLE is located in Karamalai, which is around 10 kilometres away from Valparai. It is owned by Peria Karamalai Tea Estate Industries.

NIRAR DAM is located around 15 kilometres away from Valparai. This dam is used for Hydroelectricity production as well for irrigation purpose. It attracts several tourists as this famous waterfall resembles the Silver Cascade Waterfalls in Kodaikanal.

KARAMALAI ANNAI VELANKANNI CHURCH, located at around 10 kilometres away from Valparai is dedicated to the Velankanni Matha. Every year during the month of September, an Annual Festival takes place. 

CHINNAKALLAR WATERFALLS, located around 15 kilometres from Valparai is the second highest rainfall area in India. This waterfalls is surrounded by dense forest.
